Trenz Electronic (Trenz) and Knowledge Resources (KR), two leading European manufacturers of FPGA modules and providers of development and design services, are entering into a strategic technology alliance to strengthen the European FPGA SoM ecosystem.
The collaboration follows a multi-tiered strategy, beginning with the joint adoption of a module management interface for future products from both companies.
This unified interface ensures optimal interoperability in heterogeneous multi-SoM systems that may include modules from both vendors.
Further steps include the development of complementary product lines, expanding the joint offering of FPGA SoMs designed and manufactured in Europe.
Additionally, the partnership will provide convenient access to select KR products via the Trenz web shop, leveraging Trenz’s efficient logistics infrastructure.
Over time, KR and Trenz will introduce a jointly manufactured line of FPGA SoMs, offering true second-source options with geographic diversity to enhance supply chain resilience.
