Knowledge Resources’ KRM-4ZU47DR RFSoM passed acceptance testing for CERN’s next generation Beam Position Monitors (BPM), designed for the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC).

CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the largest scientific instrument ever designed and built for particle physics research. Since 2010 the LHC machine has accelerated and collided proton beams and heavier ion species at unprecedented energies of up to 14 TeV. To extend the lifespan of that experiment, the HL-LHC project aims to further enhance and operate the collider beyond its initial specification. The HL-LHC includes the BPM, which will incorporate our KRM-4 modules. Altogether, the update will allow physicists to increase the amount of usable data collected by the LHC by a factor of 10.

We are excited that our SoM has been selected and will play a role in scientific advances.
